Pet Illustrated in more detail
How is my Pet illustration created?
Each Pet Illustrated portrait is created digitally by Andrea from start to finish, working carefully from the photograph you upload.
Andrea begins by sketching your pet by hand using a digital pen and tablet, capturing expression, posture, and those subtle details that make them unmistakably yours.
She then builds the artwork in layers, adding colour, light, shadow, and texture digitally. This layered approach gives the portrait depth and personality while maintaining a clean, contemporary finish.
Because the entire process is digital, it allows for a quicker turnaround while still being individually created by Andrea’s hand, just in a modern medium.
Once complete, your portrait is professionally produced as a fine art print or mounted and framed option in your chosen size, ready to bring your pet’s character into your home.
How long before I receive my Pet illustration?
Once I receive your photo, I begin creating your Pet Illustrated portrait digitally by hand.
Most commissions are completed within five to seven working days.
After that, your chosen print or framed artwork is professionally produced and carefully dispatched.
In most cases, you can expect your finished piece to arrive within around ten to fourteen working days from the moment you upload your photo.
If you’re ordering for a special occasion or working to a particular date, just send me a message, I’ll always do my best to help.
Can I Include more than one pet?
Yes, you can include two pets in one portrait. Just select “Yes under the 2 Pets in Portrait” option above when choosing your artwork size.
A small extra charge is added automatically to give me the time to do both pets justice.
If you’d like three or more pets, please message me first and we’ll agree everything together before I begin.
Do you offer a guarantee?
From the very beginning, I want you to feel completely happy and confident about your Pet Illustrated artwork.
Before anything is printed, I’ll email you a watermarked preview of your illustration. This gives you the opportunity to request small refinements, perhaps a subtle colour adjustment or a minor detail tweak.
Because each piece is created carefully from your chosen photograph, I’m not able to make major redraws or structural changes at this stage. But I will always do my best to make thoughtful, reasonable refinements where possible.
If for any reason we can’t reach a version you feel comfortable with, I’ll offer a full refund before the artwork goes to print.
Once you’ve approved the final version and it moves into production, it becomes a printed-to-order commission and refunds are no longer available.
If you’re unsure about your photo before ordering, you’re always welcome to send it to me first. Starting with the right image makes all the difference, and I’m here to help.
Framing & Print Details
Each Pet Illustrated artwork is created digitally by Andrea from your photo, using her hand drawn sketching and painting process on screen.
• The artwork is created digitally at high resolution and composed at A4 proportions, in portrait or landscape to best suit your photo.
• If you choose A4, A3, or A2, your illustration is professionally produced as a fine art giclée print.
• Prints are produced on premium archival cotton paper, chosen for its subtle texture, rich colour depth, and longevity.
• Mounted and framed options are available in white, black, or natural wood finishes.
• Each frame includes a clean off white mount and lightweight acrylic glazing for a refined, gallery style presentation.
• All printed and framed artworks are produced to order and fulfilled directly by our professional print studio.
All sizes refer to the approximate artwork size. The mount and frame are added around this to create a balanced, ready to hang finish.
Delivery & Time Scales
Because Pet Illustrated is created digitally and printed directly by my professional print partner, the process is slightly quicker and more streamlined.
From the moment your photo is received, your illustration is usually completed within around 3–5 working days.
Once you’ve approved the final artwork, it moves straight into production.
In most cases, you can expect:
• Print Only orders to arrive within approximately 7–12 working days from photo upload
• Mounted & Framed orders to arrive within approximately 10–18 working days from photo upload
These timeframes include both the creation of your illustration and professional printing and delivery.
As every piece is made to order, timings are always approximate. If you’re ordering for a birthday, anniversary, or special occasion, please feel free to get in touch before placing your order, I’ll always do my best to advise honestly and help where I can.
Buying as a gift?
Thinking of surprising someone with a Pet Illustrated portrait? I can’t think of a sweeter idea.
No photo yet? That’s absolutely fine. You can place the order now and send the picture later, whenever you’re ready or when your lucky recipient shares their favourite snap.
If you’d like to keep it a complete surprise, I’m very happy to send them a gentle, friendly email on your behalf asking for their pet’s photo, without giving the game away. Just add a short gift note and their email address at checkout.
Every Pet Illustrated piece is created just for them, capturing the personality behind those eyes, those whiskers, or that slightly mischievous tilt of the head. It’s a gift full of heart, and one that lasts long after the moment of unwrapping.
Shipping & Customs (If buying outside the UK)
Will I need to pay customs duties or import taxes?
If you are ordering from outside the United Kingdom, your country may apply import duties, VAT, or handling fees when your artwork arrives.
Every country sets its own rules and thresholds, and these can change over time. Any charges applied by customs are the responsibility of the recipient.
I always ensure that your order is documented correctly and dispatched with care, but local import charges are outside my control.
How much might I be charged?
It depends entirely on your country’s regulations and the value of your order.
Some countries have higher tax-free thresholds, meaning smaller orders may arrive without additional charges. Others may apply VAT or handling fees regardless of value.
Because these rules vary, I’m not able to estimate or guarantee what may be charged at your border.
Where can I check my country’s customs rules?
The most reliable place to check is directly with your country’s customs authority. Here are some official resources that may help:
• United States – U.S. Customs & Border Protection
• Canada – Canada Border Services Agency
• Australia – Australian Border Force
• New Zealand – New Zealand Customs Service
• European Union – European Commission Taxation & Customs
Regulations can change, so I always recommend checking official guidance if you’re unsure.
Do you offer Delivered Duty Paid (DDP)?
At present, orders are shipped using standard international delivery terms. This means any customs duties or import taxes are collected by your local authorities, if applicable.
If you have specific questions before ordering, you’re always welcome to contact me directly.
Will my order be clearly labelled?
Yes. All artwork is professionally packed and dispatched with accurate customs documentation describing the contents as fine art prints or framed artwork.
Everything is prepared carefully to help ensure smooth delivery.
I’m worried about unexpected fees, what should I do?
If you’re unsure about your country’s import rules, I recommend checking with your local customs office before placing your order.
I want you to feel confident and comfortable when ordering from me, so if you’d like to discuss anything first, please just get in touch.
