Artwork Story
Artwork Story
A Fragile Performance
This piece began as a university assignment: create an image that represents life’s struggles and the idea of balance.
Andrea chose a clown.
Not to be playful, but because the clown is the perfect symbol of modern life. The performer who keeps everything spinning. Work. Responsibility. Expectations. Relationships. The invisible pressure to hold it all together.
Standing on the globe itself, the figure spins plates from every limb. Most are balanced. One begins to slip.
That slipping plate became the heart of the piece. Because life rarely collapses all at once. Usually, it’s one small but meaningful thing, time in nature, rest, presence, that quietly slides away while we’re busy keeping everything else upright.
Creating this work became a moment of reflection. Not a lament, but a realisation. How much are we performing? And what are we willing to drop?
A Fragile Performance isn’t about chaos. It’s about awareness.
A reminder that balance isn’t about spinning more plates, it’s about choosing which ones truly matter.

Where this works beautifully
Where this works beautifully
This artwork sits beautifully anywhere life gets busy, because it gives overwhelm a shape and a softer landing.
• Busy family homes that need one visual reminder to pause and breathe.
• Living rooms where conversation happens and the artwork can quietly say, “same here”.
• Home offices where work can take over, as a gentle boundary setter on the wall.
• Kitchens and dining spaces where life is managed in motion, and humour softened truth lands best.
• Hallways and landing areas as a daily reset point between roles, tasks, and expectations.
• Near the front door, where it can fram.e the day as you leave and greet you as you return.
• Reading nooks and decompression corners for nervous system calm after a full on day.
• Therapy rooms, coaching spaces, or wellbeing studios where people are already doing the inner work.
• Creative studios where pressure and performance show up, but curiosity still matters.
• Shared spaces in homes where one person carries a lot, and the art feels quietly seen.
• Minimal or neutral interiors that can hold one meaningful, slightly punchy focal piece.
• Spaces that benefit from “warm realism” honest, human, and a little bit wry rather than decorative.
Materials & Finish
Materials & Finish
This artwork was originally created by Andrea as a hand crafted digital piece, built slowly through layered composition, expressive detail, and intentional colour work. Each element was carefully constructed to preserve depth, movement, and emotional nuance.
Reproduced prints are professionally produced as fine art giclée prints on high quality, archival cotton paper. This paper is selected for its subtle texture, excellent colour reproduction, and ability to retain the richness, clarity, and tonal depth of the original digital artwork.
Framed artworks are finished in high quality standard frames, available in white, black, or natural finishes. Each frame is paired with a clean off white mount, giving the artwork space to breathe and ensuring a timeless, balanced presentation designed to suit a wide range of interiors.
