Something quiet but insistent. The feeling of pushing through darkness toward something you cannot yet name.

This piece holds a garden that belongs to no single season and no specific flower. Deep midnight blue fills the space between blooms, while dramatic white and orange flowers press forward into the light, soft white petals scatter low, and rose-toned blooms rise above it all. It was made at a time when fear felt present in the world, and in my own life. Growing through that, rather than around it, is what this piece is about.

It sits well in spaces that hold quiet depth. A reading corner, a bedroom, somewhere you return to at the end of the day. The dark ground gives it weight, but the flowers bring warmth. It does not shout. It simply stays.

Artwork Story

This piece came from something I was feeling quite deeply. There is so much fear in the world at the moment, and I have been sitting with my own version of it too. I wanted to make something that reflected what it feels like to grow through fear rather than be stopped by it.

The flowers here are not faithful to any real variety. They are imagined, felt rather than observed. I wanted them to feel as though they are pressing gently but persistently through the dark, finding their way without force. The deep blue ground is not meant to feel threatening. It is simply where growth begins.

I hope this piece finds people who know that feeling. The slow, sometimes uncertain movement toward something better. It does not resolve neatly, and it was never meant to. It just keeps going, and I find that quietly reassuring.
