How is my life illustration created?
How is my life illustration created?
Each Companion Portrait begins as an original artwork, created entirely by hand by Andrea.
Working from the photo you upload, Andrea first creates a hand drawn outline sketch. This captures your pet’s character and expression and forms the foundation of the artwork.
You’ll receive this sketch as a watermarked preview by email before any pastel work begins. This is your opportunity to suggest small refinements if needed and to decide whether you’d like to proceed.
Once approved, Andrea carefully builds the portrait using layered pastels, bringing depth, softness, and life to the final piece

How long before I receive my Companion Portrait?
How long before I receive my Companion Portrait?
From the moment your photo is received, the outline sketch is usually completed within up to three working days.
Once you approve the sketch, the full pastel artwork typically takes a further two to three working days to complete.
After the artwork is finished, delivery times depend on how you choose to receive it.
In most cases, you can expect to receive your finished Companion Portrait within approximately ten to fifteen working days from photo upload, assuming prompt sketch approval.
What if it’s not quite right?
What if it’s not quite right?
The sketch approval stage is designed to give you confidence before the pastel artwork begins.
At this point, you may request minor adjustments, such as small changes to expression or detail. As the sketch is created entirely by hand, we’re unable to redraw the artwork or make major changes.
If the sketch does not feel right for you and you choose not to proceed, a full refund is offered at this stage.
Once the sketch is approved and the pastel process begins, the artwork is considered commissioned and refunds are no longer available.
Delivery & Timescales
Delivery & Timescales
In most cases, you can expect:
• Original artwork only to arrive within around 7 to 13 working days from photo upload
• Framed artworks to arrive within around 12 to 20 working days from photo upload.
These timeframes include the creation of your Companion Portrait and delivery, and assume your photo is received promptly and the outline sketch is approved without delay.
Every portrait is created by hand, so timings are always approximate. If you’re ordering for a special occasion or working to a specific date, we’re very happy to advise before you place your order.
Framing & Print Details
Framing & Print Details
Each Companion Portrait begins as an original pastel artwork, created by hand by Andrea on fine art paper.
• The original artwork is created at A4 size, in portrait or landscape depending on your photo.
• If you choose A4 framed, the original artwork itself is carefully prepared and framed.
• If you choose A3 or A2, the original artwork is professionally scanned at very high resolution and produced as a fine art giclée print and the original A4 pastel artwork is always included with your order.
• Larger sizes are printed on premium textured cotton paper using an archival giclée process
• Framed artworks are finished in high quality standard frames in white, black, or natural wood
• Frames include a clean off white mount and acrylic safety glass for a clear, lightweight, and durable finish
• The original A4 pastel artwork is always included with your order and sent to you separately when a larger size is selected
All sizes shown refer to the approximate artwork size. The mount and frame are added around this.

Companion Portraits make a thoughtful and meaningful gift.
If you don’t yet have a photo, that’s absolutely fine. You can place your order first, then email us the photo when you’re ready, or when the recipient is ready to share it.
If you’d like, we can also email the recipient on your behalf with a gentle message inviting them to send their photo, without revealing any surprises. Just add a short gift note and their email address at checkout.
Every portrait is created with care and time, making it a truly personal gift that lasts far beyond the moment it’s given.

Thank you so much for you lovely review, it fills me with so much confidence, Andrea x
So surprised and moved that Andrea created this for me for my 70th Birthday. Scenes of me and my girls when they were children playing on the beach, camping, strawberry picking and picnicking with their Nan. The picture was so special because it was made personally for me.
Thank you so much for sharing this it truly means the world to me. I’m honoured to have been trusted with such precious memories, and I’m so glad the piece brought them back to life for you. Wishing you the happiest 70th birthday and many more beautiful moments ahead.
I asked Andrea to create a piece from a photo of me and my dad by the sea, just sharing a quiet moment feeding the birds. She turned it into something really meaningful. I’m genuinely so grateful for it.
