Artwork Description

• One of Andrea’s first original paintings, created in acrylic on canvas during a time of gentle exploration and self discovery.

• Inspired by a fox that regularly appeared near her home, alert, confident, and completely at ease in its own world

• Painted out of simple curiosity: wondering if she could truly capture its presence, expression, and spirit

• Not created with expectations, just a quiet question to herself, “Can I do this?”

• The fox’s steady gaze reflects both caution and calm, mirroring Andrea’s own mix of uncertainty and hope at the time

• Warm tones and layered brushwork give the piece depth, movement, and emotional connection

• Reproduced as a fine art giclée print on archival, softly textured cotton paper to preserve every detail

• Available as a print or simply framed, allowing the story and character to shine through

Artwork Story

This was one of the very first pieces I ever painted.

At the time, I didn’t think of myself as an artist. I just loved being around nature and noticing the small, beautiful things that most people walk past without really seeing.

Where I lived, there was a fox who used to appear quite often. He was big, strong, and in such beautiful condition. I remember watching him and feeling quietly amazed that something so wild could live so close to us.

One day, I wondered if I could paint him.

Not because I thought I was especially good.
Not because I thought anyone would see it.
Just because I was curious.

I wanted to see if I could capture the way he looked back at me. Calm. Alert. Present. Almost as if we were both quietly studying each other.

Looking back now, I realise this painting was never really just about a fox.

It was about me testing my courage.
About wondering if I could trust my hands.
About giving myself permission to try.

In many ways, this was where everything began.

Before the confidence.
Before the commissions.
Before I believed this could ever be my life’s work.

It started here.
With curiosity.
And one fox who showed me I was braver than I thought.

Materials & Finish

This artwork was originally created by Andrea using acrylic paint, applied by hand with a layered, expressive approach that builds depth, movement, and texture.

Reproduced prints are professionally produced as fine art giclée prints on high quality, archival cotton paper. This paper is carefully chosen for its subtle texture, excellent colour reproduction, and ability to retain the character and tonal richness of the original painting.

Framed artworks are finished in high quality standard frames, available in white, black, or natural finishes. Each frame is paired with a clean off white mount, giving the artwork space to breathe and ensuring a timeless, balanced presentation designed to suit a wide range of interiors.
